PROGRAMME NOTE
As the title suggests, this short piece takes the form of a musical ‘chase’ that features two similar but profoundly different instruments: the quick, agile violin and its pursuer, the slightly bulkier and stronger viola. Throughout the piece’s three distinct sections the chase gradually weaves its way up the instrumental register, as the gap narrows…
